Rügen Healing Clay is snow-white in colour and it is one of the purest clays around. Its ultra fine consistency absorbs heat as well as cold perfectly and is capable of maintaining temperature over a long period of time.
The clay beds have been lying dormant in the Rügen Clay Sea for more than 60 million years and the excavation of the clay only started around 100 years ago. The clay is a pure and non-allergenic natural product which is used in body wraps, foot baths, body baths and facial masks as well as in creams, lotions and toothpaste. It is a peloid which is used in many German therapy centres (Kurbetriebe).
One of the characteristic effects of the clay is that it can warm the whole body and it cleanses and nourishes the skin at the same time without drying it out. Your skin feels markedly softer after just one session.
There are no known allergic reactions or side effects to the clay. Caution only needs to be taken if one suffers from kidney disease or a malfunction of the thyroid and uses the clay in combination with seaweed.
